About Us

About Us

We are a gathering of Christians in Issaquah Washington, USA. Our purpose is to glorify our creator and love our fellow man. We believe Jesus has given us all the tools we should use to please Him. The mercy of God allows us to be His children: His church. Jesus has collected us together from all backgrounds and skin tones as one family. The peace He brings our lives is incomparable! With all the chaos in this world, don’t you long for a solution? Each of us who gather here can witness the power of God’s love in our lives.

What We Believe

God is Love

God loves us so much that He sent His only Son into the world so that through Him all humanity might be saved. Because He loves us so much, we are to love others in the same way. The love of God bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things and never fails.

Jesus is Lord

Jesus is the son of God who lived on this earth and was tempted just like us. He lived a sinless life and died, a sacrifice for sin on our behalf. He was the sacrifice and the King we needed to be reconciled with God. He is the way, the truth, and the life—salvation is through Him alone. He is the head of His Church.

We are Forgiven

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and because of our sin, we are condemned to die. However, Christ’s sacrifice allows us the opportunity for our sins to be forgiven if we:

    • Believe that Jesus is the Son of God
    • Confess that Jesus is our Lord
    • Repent with godly sorrow for our past sins
    • Obey Christ’s command to be baptized for the remission of our sins

    We have Work

We have work to do! Jesus commands us to go into all the world and make disciples for Him.  We are eager to share the good news of Christ with everyone we meet, in hopes that they will share with us in the life to come.  If you have questions about our beliefs, we stand ready to listen, seek Bible answers, and share our faith with you.  Let us know if we can help today!

    Servant-Leaders

    Local congregation. Local servant leaders.

There’s a clear pattern for local congregations. Everyone is equal. Everyone is loved by God. Everyone has value. Everyone has a role to play. There’s no corporate structure. There’s no group of churches banded together. He does ask members to take on roles based on their abilities and qualifications. He wants elders to shepherd the flock—and he outlines the qualifications for that role in Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7. It’s important to note that Christ is the only head in His church and, as the King, we are all subject to Him.

Shepherds (also called shepherds, bishops, or pastors) were to be appointed to guard, nurture, and own accountability for the spiritual well-being of the people who attend a particular local congregation. Elders are members just like everyone else but hold special responsibilities.

So that the elders might focus on the spiritual well-being of the congregation, I Timothy 3:8-13 also discusses the qualifications for deacons. The role of deacons is to tend to the operational and logistics needs of the congregation. Again, they have a special role but they, as the elders, are local members of the congregation.

The Bible also talks about evangelists (also called preachers). These are men who focus their work on the equipping and edification of the congregation for service to the King. An evangelist is also a member of the congregation like everyone else and the elders are accountable for his soul as well.

Out of respect for God’s will, our servant leader structure is based on this biblical pattern.

    Our Mission

Live Right. Do Good. Be Ready

That’s our mission. We’re inspired by Galatians 6:7-10:

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap Eternal Life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. so then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are in the household of faith.

Want to know more? Here are some additional thoughts that encourage us to do His will in His way.

    Live Right

We believe Psalm 99:1 – “God Reigns!” and as such He has all authority. His all-encompassing authority has been granted to Jesus according to Matthew 28:18. God has revealed His will to all people everywhere in the Bible, which has everything we need to live a life pleasing to God. We hold to no man-made creed or organization, just the Word of God.  It is our desire to serve our God according to His good pleasure as set forth in His word.

    Do Good

We seek to do the will of our Father who is in Heaven, as set forth for us in His word.  We embrace His command in Matthew 22:37-39 when Jesus says “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  We seek to follow Jesus’ teaching in John 15:14 – “You are my friends if you do what I command you.”

    Be Ready

We are always glad for opportunities to share our faith with our friends and neighbors in our community.  We remember Jesus’ final instruction in Matthew 28:19-20, where He instructs us today to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
